'Résilience', performance nearby the castle of Bazoches [Fr], 31 july 2025/60
The French engineer Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban lived and worked at the Château de Bazoches from 1665 until his death in 1707. My sculptures, made of clay, refer to the intact heart of Marshal Vauban, which, as I have read, is preserved in a lead coffin in Paris. I have named my performance “Résilience”, referring to the attempt to bring Vauban's heart to life for a moment, as well as his courage in protecting the country and his progressive integration of technology into the landscape.
